Kooima Kompostwender Kooima Ag® Washington Climate Smart Farm Equipment Grant

Washington producers have the opportunity to invest in equipment through the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Climate Smart Farm Equipment Grant. With up to $4.37 million in funding available, this program helps commercial agriculture and aquaculture operations purchase equipment that reduces greenhouse gas emissions, improves soil health, and supports more sustainable farming practices.

Applications open September 4 and will be accepted through October 19, or until funds are exhausted. Funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, making early preparation essential.

Application window: September 4th at 8 am (PST) through October 19th at 5 pm (PST)
Total funding: $4.3 million
Eligibility: all commercial farming operations in Washington State
Reimbursement: receive up to 75% of eligible equipment and delivery costs, up to a maximum of $200,000 per farm per year.
- Up to 85% of eligible equipment and delivery costs, up to $200,000, for applicants who qualify under one or more:
  - Gross Cash Farm Income of less than $350,000 annually
  - Federally Recognized Tribe
  - Veterans
  - Operations of high environmental burden

Funds may be applied toward the purchase cost of equipment and delivery fees! Eligible equipment includes but are not limited to:

No-till drills
Electric tractors
Compost spreaders
Electric pumps
GPS precision ag equipment
Equipment supporting innovative practices with greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction potential
