The K21187 mixer knife is our most commonly used knife for Patz® vertical mixer wagons. Specifically designed for mixing livestock (dairy farms, feedlots, beef cattle) rations, it provides excellent performance for preparing TMR (Total Mixed Ration). TMR is created by thoroughly mixing various ingredients in a mixer wagon, ensuring that all feed components are evenly distributed for optimal livestock nutrition. The K21187 knife helps achieve this by efficiently mixing the feed for a consistent blend.

The knife is made from a high-carbon steel base, milled, heat-treated, and coated with a tungsten hard-face for superior wear resistance. Measuring 21.25" long, it fits all Patz® vertical mixer wagons and is engineered to offer excellent edge retention, ensuring your TMR is mixed thoroughly with minimal mixing time. The K21187 knife performs on par with or exceeds the quality of the OEM knife, making it an ideal replacement for your mixer wagon.

Installation Instructions

• Installation: Bolt the knife onto the screw of the mixer wagon.
• Purpose: Used for mixing livestock feed or rations to create TMR.
• Quantity: Typically, 8-12 knives are installed per screw, depending on your specific mixer wagon model.
• Thickness: The knife is 3/8" thick, which allows it to mix feed efficiently
• Cutting Knives: If you require a knife for better cutting of TMR, consider the K21187HP.

Maintenance

• Replace the knife when it is no longer sharp to the touch.
• Visually inspect the knife for wear; an increase in mixing time may indicate it's time for replacement.

The K21187 knife is installed to factory settings, and no special tools are needed. For installation, use K385021BK mounting hardware and the K21431 backing plate (optional).
