John Deere® Cutter Drum Gras Knife (fits 6000 & 7200-7580 series)

The K69500 grass knife will fit all 6000 and 7200-7580 series John Deere® self propelled forage harvester (SPFH). This knife is used on the harvester cutter drum to cut the material being harvested. This is considered a grass knife, it is meant to be used when using a pickup head or in conditions where ingesting a foreign object is higher. The knife has a thicker cutting area which lessens the chance of breakage. Also available is the K69500KIT, grass knife kit.

Each knife is heat-treated and tungsten hard-faced. The cutting edge is ground in for consistent hardness out to the tip of the knife. 

Installation:

• Install to factory settings, torque bolt from 155-200 ft. lbs. 
• Knives are bolted to the cutter drum with three bolts- K6950.
• Do not install with an impact wrench. 

Maintenance: 

• Replace knives when all tungsten underneath the knives is exhausted or when there are major chips in the knives from rocks. 
• Sharpen knives at least twice a day to maintain a sharp edge for easy cutting.
