The dual-roll adapters are used for harvesting just the ears of corn using the row crop header to make earlage. Earlage is harvested later than silage, giving the producer a longer working window and provides a product that reduces the amount of roughage that needs to be fed as compared to a corn-based ration.

The dual-roll adapters work well because of the improved crop flow system with the added additional intake roller on the bottom. These adapters are coupled with the standard top intake roller. This makes these adapters uniquely geared for today’s higher horsepower harvesters and larger corn heads.

Installation of the Earlage Adapters is the same as hooking up any other implement. You can leave the adapter on the harvester or corn head while not in use. When leaving the adapter on the corn head, it’s simply picking up the adapter/corn head and hooking up PTOs.

The K9000 dual roll adapter will mount on the front of John Deere® 8000 and 9000 series self-propelled forage harvester to facilitate the connection between the harvester and a row-crop header. This adapter offers better cleanout and increased harvesting speed averaging 6 MPH.

Is there a dual roll adapter for Claas® forage harvesters?

Yes, we offer the K00498 which fits Claas® machines. The K00498 offers better clean-out, increased harvesting speed, and less shelling. This adapter works well in dry conditions. This adapter will go on the front of a Claas® 493-502 series self-propelled forage harvesters to facilitate the connection between the harvester and a row crop header.

Will any Kooima Ag header adapters fit New Holland® forage machines?

Yes, the KFR920 will fit New Holland® forage harvesters. The KFR920 will mount on the front of a New Holland® FR Series self-propelled forage harvester to facilitate the connection between the harvester and a crop row header. This header adapter provides better clean-out and increased harvesting speed. This new design will help stop the bubbling of corn in front of the feed rolls.
