56 Knife Drum

The K103889 is a 56-knife cutter drum designed to fit John Deere® 6000 series and 7200-7580 series self-propelled forage harvesters (SPFH). This drum works with cutter knives to efficiently cut harvested material.

This cutter drum features straight knife brackets, requiring the use of K62075 and K62076 angled corn knives for optimal cutting performance. It includes a Kooima Ag exclusive removable center shaft, allowing for easier maintenance and replacement. Built for durability, it has a thicker wrap, reinforced sidewalls, and a center support plate to enhance rigidity and extend wear life. The bolt-on knife design simplifies replacements, as the knives attach directly to the drum.

Control Your Length of Cut – The number of knives on the drum affects the cut length:

• 40-Knife Drum – Produces a longer cut length.
• 48-Knife Drum – Provides a balanced, mid-range cut length.
• 56-Knife Drum (this model) – Produces the shortest cut length

Installation & Replacement:

• Install according to factory settings.
• Requires K71387 hub and K19M8610 bolt (sold separately).
• Inspect regularly for wear; hairline cracks between knife brackets indicate it's time for a replacement.
• Replace the drum when knife brackets are wearing thin or if the bearing spins on the shaft.
