High Performance Vertical Mixer Knife

This High Performance mixer knife features Kooima Ag's patent pending cutting edge for improved cutting of rations over the standard Kuhn Knight® mixer knife. The K144734HP high performance mixer knife is designed for cutting and mixing livestock rations in Kuhn Knight® vertical mixers. Made from high-carbon steel, it features a tungsten hard face coating with a welded carbide-style design for superior wear resistance and longer life compared to OEM knives. 

The main benefit of this knife lies in its ability to cut with less horsepower, optimizing energy efficiency while delivering exceptional results. Thanks to its innovative design, the cutting edge stays sharper longer, reducing the need for frequent replacements and ensuring consistent, high-quality performance throughout its service life.

Usage

This knife provides excellent performance for mixing livestock rations, such as those used on dairy farms, feedlots, and beef cattle operations, making it ideal for preparing TMR (Total Mixed Ration). TMR is created by thoroughly mixing various feed ingredients in a mixer wagon, ensuring that all components are evenly distributed for optimal livestock nutrition. This knife is also used particularly at the bottom of the mixer for efficient feed processing. It fits all Kuhn Knight® vertical mixers and is ideal for improving ration consistency and reducing mixing time.

Installation

The knife bolts directly onto the mixer screw and fits both clockwise and counter-clockwise rotating screws by flipping it over. No special tools are required. Typically, 8-12 knives are used per screw, and the K144734BK hardware kit is available for installation.
