High Performance Koyma Klad® Bale Flails - Helping you in the field

Nolan went to a local feed lot, located in Northwest Iowa. This feedlot uses a bale processor daily. They do around 4,000 bales per year. These bales are mainly corn stalk bales, but there is some straw or hay that with run through the machine from time-to-time.

Lyle, from Iowa, said that he got the high-performance bale flails (K510517232HP - Vermeer®, Highline® | K5200012HP - Haybuster®, Fair MFG.™) from Kooima Ag, about 4 years ago. This means, these flails have processed 16,000 bales in their lifetime. The flails were still working, but it was time to replace them. “We pushed it because we wanted to see what they could do for us. We are very satisfied with the way they work. We will definitely buy another set of these,” Lyle said.

Again, 90% of what this bale processor processed were corn stalk bales. This is for bedding the cattle. It is cold up here in Northwest Iowa right now, so it is important to make sure that there is enough bedding for the cattle. Lyle said, “If we bed, we overbed rather than underbed. We would rather have plenty of bedding out there. So, when I say two, we usually do three or four bales and dump them in so there is plenty of bedding. But obviously you want your machine to work because we don’t want to be messing around with it. When you are doing 60 – 80 bales in a day you want it to work so you can get it done. These flails do work.”
