K9000 Dual Roll Adapter Installation

K9000 Header Adapter

Need help feeding your 8000 & 9000 series John Deere® forage harvester faster and better? Kooima® Ag has just what you need! Our K9000 Dual Roll Header Adapter will take you one step farther and get you feeding better in sticky conditions!

First, you will need to remove the skid shoes from the adapter. There are 6 bolts and a connector with a lock bolt. Simply, remove these before going any further.

Next, we will want to remove the PTO. To start, you will want to remove the shield. To do this, you will want a 18mm wrench, a socket and a flathead screwdriver. Take off the shield and slide it up, out of the way. Then, remove the PTO and set it on the ground. Grab your 18mm wrench and socket to remove the bracket. There are 8 bolts to remove. These may be super tight, so use we recommend using a braker bar. Once the bolts are removed, set the bracket aside and store it in a safe place.

We recommend raising up the adapter to help ease it onto the chopper. There are two holes on the adapter – they will rest on the knobs. Now that the adapter is in place, take off the latch and put it back on to attach it to the feeder house.

After the adapter is hooked up, you will need to put on the K8000DL that goes with the adapter. Hood this up to the drive and the drive on the adapter. Now, the John Deere® cutter does not recognize the Kooima® Adapter. To fix this you will have to adjust some settings.

Go into the chopper and turn it on. Go to the menu button, choose header, and click the button choose default settings. This will allow you to function everything how you want. The chopper is set at 480 header RMP, but we like to run at 750-800.
